A small market town on the banks of the Durance River, Orgon is situated between the Luberon, to its east, and the Alpilles, to its west. The town a unique Provençal charm. Immediately upon entering the village, you will be enchanted by its rich historical charm, its fortified walls, the ruins of its ancient château, its Renaissance facades, 16th century oratories, and famous Nôtre Dame de Beauregard chapel. Historic remnants from Roman times and its Provençal character make Orgon an exquisite setting for your wedding photos.
Orgon, traces its past from the Neolithic period and the Roman occupation. Statues, coins, burial sites, and other artifacts have been found from that period. Its château played an important role in the 13th century, as a stronghold and a prison, when it was a residence of the Knights Templar. As the centuries passed, with different occupy seigneuries, first the château and then the church in turn were demolished, reconstructed, and demolished once more, despite their fortifications. It will lead you to the famous Nôtre Dame de Beauregard chapel.
