Special Features of Lyon's Wedding Hall in Rhône-Alpes, France
With its 65 bells, the Town Hall's carillon is one of the most important in Europe. The bells are played on Sunday evenings during the summer, and once a week the rest of the year. Inside this building the Marseillaise was sung for the first time, during the seat of the Revolutionary Court in 1792.
If you are lucky enough to celebrate your wedding in Lyon during the week of December 8th you’ll have the unique pleasure of taking in the annual ‘Celebration of Light’ when thousands of Lyon citizens hang lamps from their balconies and windows and then parade through the city holding their lamps. This event has been enjoyed for over 150 years and the city puts on a remarkable show of light and sound highlighting the main tourist sites and historical monuments.
